Character Design: Barbara, the Koi Fish.
From sketch to the final design. Belongs to UCSB Associated Students.
Sketches:
The inspiration for this character are the koi fish in Storke Plaza. Starting with sketches in photoshop, I needed to make sure the shape and style matched the other A.S. characters.
The Colors:
The colors are monochromatic to keep the design simple and cohesive.
Clean up design in Illustrator.
Once the colors and shapes are set, I take it into Illustrator where the design is vectorized.
Finally, make more variations.
I can now make different poses and expressions to give Barbara some character!
